In style for 83 years

The “store with the red door” is turning 83 this year. While that’s not the nice round number that typically provides cause to celebrate one’s history, Newman’s Menswear understands that it has nurtured something special over the years at its King St. East location in Hamilton. And as anyone concerned with style is well aware, it’s never a bad time to update your look.

“We have gone through an amazing transformation here this past summer,” says Aaron Newman, who represents the third generation of family ownership. “Through many years of looking around to relocate, it finally hit me that our present location had all that I was looking for.

“This is unlike any other retail space in Hamilton or even Burlington,” adds Newman, whose business has “a New York Soho feel,” according to some customers.

To celebrate the evolution of a downtown classic, Newman’s staged a grand re-opening the evening of October 28th, with wine, hors d’oeuvres and live music.
