Chamber To Host Bill 168 Seminar

Effective June 15, 2010, the amendment to Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act, Bill 168 - Workplace Violence and Harassment, comes into effect.  Bill 168 applies to all non-federally regulated employers in Ontario.  Bill 168 is about strengthening protection for workers from workplace violence and harassment and, to that end, the legislation imposes numerous duties on employers to be in compliance.

To help businesses meet the requirements of this new legislation, the Burlington Chamber is hosting a special seminar.  This session will explain the new legislation and, most importantly, clearly outline the steps that employers need to take to satisfy the many requirements of Bill 168.  In other words, employers will get answers to "what is it"and "how do I do it".

The seminar will be held on June 2 at the Holiday Inn Burlington.
Breakfast and networking begin at 7:30 and the seminar begins at 8:00.
Cost (including GST) is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members.

The Burlington Chamber of Commerce advocates on behalf of business in Burlington and represents 1,100 member companies at the local, regional, provincial and federal level.
